As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team and engage our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant makes a difference in people's lives, administers prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, and disabled persons under direction of a Physician.

Job Functions:

  • Prepares exam room, equipment and supplies needed prior/during patient examination
  • Escort patients to pre/post procedure area, interviews patients
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
  • Take delegation from the Nurse, physician or physician extender
  • May work remotely at several physician offices
  • Prepares patient for consultation, taking/documenting vital signs (temp, BP, HR, RR , perform ABIs and document all information in patient’s chart) etc
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
  • Schedule appointments for patients
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Other appropriate duties may be assigned that are not listed in the description.
  • Proficient in EMR processes:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Requires an active CMA, MA, EMT, Etc. certification
  • CPR certification

SKILLS

  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

PERFORMANCEREQUIREMENTS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

This position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience as a medical assistant/LPN. Basic Medicalterminology and knowledge of medical specialties and required skills is required.

Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. The ability to perform phlebotomy, administer injections, check blood sugars and start/discontinue I.V.”s. High school diploma; Medical assistant certification

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in the medical office. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant. Travel to satellite office(s) is required
